A lazy day in the blogosphere😴

Fact-checking Donald Trump is like frisking someone at a gun show. No challenge. No surprises.

Even so, sometimes it’s just fun to expose this clown for who he is…or what. So today I’m resting instead of blogging—using his own words and those of others against him. Four articles—read one if you have time, or skim them all. If nothing else you’ll have facts to support you the next time you engage a Trump supporter in a discussion.

And just one caveat: the fourth article is tough to take.

TRUMP: Now, the taxes are a very simple thing. As soon as I have — first of all, I pay hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes. Many of her friends took bigger deductions. Warren Buffett took a massive deduction.

Buffet shares his tax return: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/11/business/buffett-calls-trumps-bluff-and-releases-his-tax-return.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=a-lede-package-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news

TRUMP: I’ve heard them where Hillary is constantly talking about the inner cities of our country, which are a disaster education-wise, jobwise, safety-wise, in every way possible. I’m going to help the African-Americans. I’m going to help the Latinos, Hispanics. I am going to help the inner cities.

Most inner cities are doing quite well—and many minority families are moving to the country: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/12/upshot/actually-many-inner-cities-are-doing-great.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=a-lede-package-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news

ANDERSON COOPER: We received a lot of questions online, Mr. Trump, about the tape that was released on Friday, as you can imagine. You called what you said locker room banter. You described kissing women without consent, grabbing their genitals. That is sexual assault. You bragged that you have sexually assaulted women. Do you understand that?
TRUMP: No, I didn’t say that at all. I don’t think you understood what was — this was locker room talk. I’m not proud of it. I apologize to my family. I apologize to the American people. Certainly I’m not proud of it. But this is locker room talk.

Not in my locker room: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/11/sports/what-exactly-is-locker-room-talk-let-an-expert-explain.html?ref=sports

TRUMP: If you look at Bill Clinton, far worse. Mine are words, and his was action.

A colleague and I used to write skits for end-of-the-year parties. Sometimes we’d laugh and say “this stuff writes itself.” It never did, but now I’m beginning to understand what that means.
